THE FIRST FEAST, by Chryssa Velissariou

A couple of sparrows were charmed
In a cage up there enclosed.
How do they as robins  seemed
Together as their tones chirped?

Harmonic, identical;
They sing songs melodical.
In  immortal waters,
They swim in the flowers!

How  they're pecking in the dask,
As if it 's their  ceaseless task!
How  they're  creating  in  Ether
Such an indelible  prayer!

What if their wings are broken?
What if time  always stolen?
Flew in insatiable attraction
The world became distraction!

Those two had precious dest'ny,
In  love's golden Bethany,
The methexis wine to drink,
Joined together in life's feast!
